Traditional Float and Set Solid Plastering by MNH Plastering: Preserving and Enhancing Beauty
In a world marked by rapid technological advancements, the allure of traditional craftsmanship endures as a beacon of authenticity and artistry. At MNH Plastering, we bring you the time-honored technique of Traditional Float and Set Solid Plastering, a method that not only preserves the essence of craftsmanship but also elevates the aesthetic appeal of interior spaces.
The Essence of Traditional Float and Set Solid Plastering:
Traditional Float and Set Solid Plastering is an age-old technique that involves applying multiple layers of plaster to a surface, followed by intricate hand-finishing to achieve a smooth, flawless texture. This method is renowned for its ability to transform mundane surfaces into works of art, enhancing both the tactile and visual experience of interiors.
The MNH Approach:
At MNH Plastering, we embrace the rich legacy of Traditional Float and Set Solid Plastering, infusing it with our expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence. Led by Mark Hamilton, our team comprises skilled artisans who possess a profound understanding of plaster’s characteristics and application techniques. We ensure that each project reflects the meticulous attention to detail that defines traditional plastering.
The Traditional Float and Set Process:
Surface Preparation: The process commences with the careful preparation of the surface. Any imperfections, cracks, or irregularities are addressed to create a smooth canvas for plaster application.
Plaster Application: A base layer of coarse plaster, often referred to as a scratch coat, is applied to the surface. This provides a secure foundation for subsequent layers.
Floating: Once the scratch coat has set, a second layer of finer plaster is applied. This layer is meticulously floated using a hand tool, creating a smooth and even surface.
Setting and Polishing: After floating, the plaster is allowed to set. Skilled craftsmen then engage in the meticulous process of hand-polishing, refining the surface to achieve the desired texture and finish.
Decoration: Traditional Float and Set Solid Plastering also allows for decorative elements to be incorporated. Intricate designs, patterns, or reliefs can be handcrafted to add a touch of elegance and uniqueness to the surface.
Benefits of Traditional Float and Set Plastering:
Timeless Elegance: The technique imparts a timeless charm and character to interiors, evoking a sense of history and authenticity.
Artisanal Aesthetics: Hand-finished surfaces exhibit a depth and complexity that can only be achieved through skilled craftsmanship.
Durability: The multiple layers of plaster create a robust and enduring surface that can withstand the test of time.
Customisation: Traditional plastering allows for a high degree of customization, enabling the creation of unique textures and designs.
